Let me preface this post by saying I am not ready for fall at all! In the slightest bit. zilch. nada. I’m still buying flowers for the containers on the patio! Really. It was close to 100 degrees here today.
BUT blog land, magazines, catalogs, retailers all tell me otherwise. So in order to play along nicely and provide some pertinent inspiration I’m going to share some of my decor from the previous years.
fall decor 2015
Lets start with the mantel since this tends to be a focal point. A couple of years ago the mantel was sprinkled with vintage & rustic items.
Vintage books, silver plate and cast iron urns are staples throughout the house.
I like to pair vintage with rustic elements. Here I used pine cones, feathers and white pumpkins. Always white pumpkins whether real or faux.
woodland autumn mantel
Last year I focused more on the rustic side of things with a woodland theme.
I kept my vintage books but used my lanterns and brown bottles instead of the silver plate & cast iron.
And although the hydrangeas are the only “natural” element it has more of a earthy feel because of the mushrooms and wooden pumpkins.

the dining room table was dressed with a seasonal vignette last year.
that white pumpkin makes me swoon each & every time.
pedestal plates & pumpkins table
I had fun one year playing with my pedestal plates and pumpkins.
glass cloche vignette – fall
And everything is better under glass right? This was a fun project with autumnal cloches.
