I’m not ready to go full throttle into summer decor but I wanted to tweak my mantel since I have not touched it since spring | easter.
I didn’t want it too elaborate or specific to any theme or time of year.
I want something effortless that can adapt with minor details through the upcoming months.
I removed everything from on top of the mantel and I mean every.little.thing and gave it a good cleaning.
Then, with a clean slate I started to add and layer elements.
I knew I wanted to use my antique 1879, green book volumes as my base.
Then I planted a cast iron planter with some variegated plants and ivy, the ivy I had left from this spring arrangement.
I added a large conch shell and sea fan to evoke a summertime feel.
These items can be easily & quickly swapped out with other stuff to totally change the feel.
I have been cleaning, organizing and getting a bunch of stuff off my to do list which feels fantastic!
I’ll be sharing some things here real soon.
The kids get out of school next week and it will really be summertime around here.
I can’t believe my baby boy, aka Master Masterpiece, is graduating from middle school.
Somebody please slow. it. down.
Happy summer time!
