deck the halls….

So our family has firmly closed the door to autumn leaves, pumpkins and turkey.
After turkey soup, turkey club sandwiches, turkey & eggs for breakfast (yes, Mr. M’s request) and turkey shepard’s pie I’m ready to move on to some Christmastime magic.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Thanksgiving and all things fall, but all good things must & should come to an end.  I’ve started sprinkling & dusting our home but I’m not totally done yet.
I’ve been totally inspired by all the great house tours around blogland and I’m totally humbled by the creativity & unique styles out there.  I hope to share my home shortly but in the meantime I can give you a peek to some of my fa la la la la la la la la…
Yes, one of the first things I do every year is deck out my car.  Somedays depending on the kid’s schedules I can spend more time in my car than at home.  This just makes me happy & SO puts me in the spirit.
Saw this at a local craft store, Richards, and couldn’t stop thinking about it ’til I went back & brought him home.  Love him.  the fresh boxwood wreath is from Trader Joe’s.  Great deal, every year.
Made this a few years ago.  I think originally I was going to sell it at one of the shops but it ended up staying here.  Funny how that is sometimes.  ; )
Got these oversized mercury balls a few years back at Tuesday Morning and I love them in my urns!  I usually try to do different things from year to year but with these I love the way they look so they stay pretty much the same.
We got our tree on Sunday, much to my son’s urging.  I love that he’s so inspired by the magic of the season every year.  Another silver tip.  We had to stop at three different tree lots to find Lloyd (we name the tree every year) but we eventually found the kind we like.
The one with silver color.  The one with the big gaps between branches for the ornaments to hang just right.  The one with the perky branches that seldom droop.  The one with the refined profile.  The one I love oh so much!
The tree is fully trimmed now, but I’ll show you when the room is finished.  Mr. M strung the lights and I strung the ribbon garland.
After that Miss M & Master M trimmed the tree with all our ornaments.  The kids have decorated the tree the last few years now & I love how this has become a tradition.  II’ll show once the rest of the house is fully decked.
I’m almost there.  Just a few more details.
Every room has a litte magic spinkled in but none of it is 100% complete.
You know how it is.  And once we are all done we start rearranging…
I love using natural elements plus some glitter & shine.
Remember I told you I was having a chalkboard motif love affair?  This is a little glimpse.  Oh, but there’s so much more.  You’ll see.
I’m a sucker for anything with holly on it.
