The French bombe chest in the front hall is the focal point. It’s the perfect space for a seasonal vignette. This year it has a rustic & refined vibe. Twig trees are paired with German glass glitter deer and accents. There are different elements with the push and pull of rustic and refined, which is always an interesting juxtaposition. A vintage lace swag is paired with a crystal garland on the background mirror.

Holidays call for extra decor and sparkle. Across the way sits a gossip table against the monogram wall which its also decked for the season. An advent calendar hangs at the ready on the coat closet door, and the hall tree has seasonal touches spilling over. Greenery and bells are always on repeat around here.

The entryway opens up to the living room and dining room which add to the seasonal vibes. The Christmas tree sparkles and glitters in the living room while the dining table is decked with a seasonal display, which will shortly be set for a festive Christmas Eve dinner.

Of course before you enter the front hall, you will cross the front porch. The porch sets the tone with pretty seasonal decor as a hint to what is held in store inside. A front door adornment is like a smile on your home and this year greenery, rattan bells and velvet ribbon greet you. The goat cart is decked with rustic touches accented with a vintage sled and twig trees flank the front door. Not too far away the water fountain in the front seating area can be heard and seen. Many of these elements mirror the decor accents in the front hall, making it a cohesive transition.

Look at photographs from previous years to see ideas you really liked and want to do again or maybe do something similar with some adjustments. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel every holiday season rather lean into what’s worked in the past. I touched on this and more in this recent post {Christmas organization 101}.

Based on what you liked from the past and what is currently trending or popular determine the look you are going for. Once you determine your theme assemble decor and start layering and arranging pieces. Keep in mind to blend transitions from one space to another. All the rooms in your house don’t need to match necessarily but rather compliment each other.

When you are assembling your decor elements always shop your home first. Use what you have, since chances are you have more than you realize. The only new pieces used here are the fresh greenery and the rattan bells on the front door, which were a splurge this year. Bells are on repeat around here.

Like mentioned above, don’t reinvent the wheel every time you start decorating. Use what has worked in the past and expand on it. Take something done in the past and add a new detail or simply recreate the same exact display if you loved it the first time around. Do what makes you happy.

Regardless if your decor styling is the same year after year or new and different, take the time to enjoy it fully. Make your beverage of choice and sit in front of your Christmas tree and take in all the sparkle and joy. It’s the most wonderful time of the year after all.

How is your Christmas decorating going? I’m never done. I’m always adding, moving, changing things around until the end. It’s my playground, and I enjoy playing on the daily. One of my favorite things to do is to inject our family traditions and sentimental decor into new and popular trends. It keeps things classic and fresh at the same time.
