Breakfast at Tiffany’s is a 1961 American romantic comedy film. The film is a captivating flight into fancy. Besides Audrey Hepburn there are so many details from the movie that are iconic to it’s storyline, which have been used for many themed events.

Details for a Breakfast at Tiffany’s theme

⚜️Pearls

⚜️Tiffany & Co. blue

⚜️Black sunglasses

⚜️Tiaras

⚜️Cigarette holder

⚜️Coffee

⚜️Black gloves

⚜️Little black dress

All these little details make a tablescape fun to set; or a party a delight to organize; or an event exciting to design. For this tablescape the focus centers around the Tiffany & Co. blue, using gift bags and boxes as the focal point.

The individual vintage Ball jars at each place setting, and the rock candy in the bubbly further carry on the color theme. The only reference to the actual movie are the individual iconic portraits of Holly Golightly at each place setting.

When I set the table I wanted it to have pieces of NY sophistication just like the movie. The silver chargers and pearl napkin rings and sterling flatware all give that air of chic that Holly Golightly tosses around in the movie.

Each place setting includes a mini picture frame with the iconic picture of Holly Golightly in the movie to provide a reference to the theme. The mini frames were actually place cards from a wedding I found at a thrift store years ago, which were a great find for 25cents each.

The bistro plates with the black bands are a nod to Audrey’s little black dress. And the glass accent plates provide another layer of bling. Brunch and bubbly go hand in hand, and the blue rock candy adds a bit of the Holly Golightly lifestyle.

Tiffany & Co. gift bags and boxes line the center of the table for a fun centerpiece. Small glass jars are inserted in each gift bag to convert them into little vases. White flowers are a great way to keep the Tiffany blue front and center.

Prayer candles and glass votives add ambience to the tablescape. At the last minute, I draped a long strand of costume pearls through the centerpiece. The design of the centerpiece is simple but carries a big punch with all the Tiffany & Co. blue goodness.

The Breakfast at Tiffany’s theme is always loads of fun and fancy. Darling, I hope my little table setting inspires you to create a festive setting a la Holly Golightly.

“It may be normal, darling; but I’d rather be natural.”
