A Pink Floral Table scape with DIY Oilcloth Chargers

The table styling is set on our outdoor table in the backyard. It’s still plenty warm to enjoy dining al fresco, although in the early mornings or later in the evenings you feel that slight crispness in the air, signaling that fall will soon be here. In the meantime, let’s enjoy a beautiful garden setting with some pink floral accents, lingering in warm summer days.

As I mentioned above the pink floral chargers were the inspiration for the table design. It’s an easy DIY with an oilcloth tablecloth, which I will share details with a step-by-step tutorial next week. Make sure to come back then or sign-up in order not to miss any Master”pieces” posts.

The design on the oilcloth includes pink cherry blossoms on a gray background, which I used as my table styling guideline. The pink cherry blossoms are echoed by the pink accent plates and the pink flower centerpiece. From a design standpoint, I tend to like things in odd numbers so these three points of pink are the focal aspects to the table design.

The accent plates on the top of the plate stack are a thrift store find, which I shared here {vintage thrifting – tips & tricks}. I used them before in this tablescape {pretty in pink} as well. These sweet little plates have a vine of pink roses around the rim with a scalloped edge.

The third pink detail is the centerpiece. Pink blooms spill out and tie in with the chargers and accent plates. I like that it’s different flowers in all three focal points, which are simply tied together by the color palette.

The blooms are in a large vintage zinc container, which mimics the gray coloring of the backdrop in the chargers. The linens are also in the gray families to keep the design cohesive.

I hope you enjoyed this last ray of sunshine as everyone is already looking at fall. I become very conflicted at this time of year, looking forward to fall, but holding onto summer.

There are a few more summer projects I will be sharing soon, but yet providing some looking forward to fall content. It’s a hard balancing act, but it’s reality versus a marketing mind set.

We took our daughter back to college last week, while my son is home for another month before he heads back for his senior year in college. Miss M is on semesters, while Master M is on a quarter system.

This further divides my summer and fall sentiments. What camp are you in? Are you already jumping into the pumpkin patch or do you still have your toes in the sand?
