Thrifting Pro Tip: Make a list of items you would like to find while thrifting on your phone, and you will always have the list with you whenever you pop into a thrift. Update the list regularly as you find treasures and seek others. Have fun!
Thrifted Collections Perfect for Christmas
Collectibles are super adaptable for the holidays and different seasons, providing a classic yet unique look. Many of these collections are used throughout the year, but they shine especially bright during Christmas time when everything is magical and extra special.

Silver
Old fashioned silver server-ware are fabulous containers to display Christmas baubles. Whether you like silver pieces tarnished or shiny, they make decor accents glow with all the vintage vibes. Silver seems to be one of those things you can find at most thrift stores and there are so many unique pieces. It’s a vintage classic!
Milk Glass
Milk glass is another collectible which is easy to find at thrifts. Although I have seen prices go up and unusual pieces are harder to find. You can certainly start a collection thrifting and add more pieces later with other second hand sources. The milky white color and texture of these pieces lends itself to so many decor aesthetics, themed motifs and holiday accents.
Baskets
Baskets are always great finds at thrift stores any time of year, but they are great for Christmas to hold all sorts of Christmas baubles and organics. Charming baskets can be found for a $1 or 2 and are a great item to use as a hostess gift full of goodies. Easy up-cycles with paint or ribbons or tags can breathe new life into tired pieces, which adds personalization.
Transferware
Transferware is a collectable loved by many. The transferware process is centuries old and it’s apparent in its timeless charm. And although it’s often used as table setting pieces, they truly shine as decor accents with all the beautiful details in design and color with a cultured look.
Brass
Brass adds a classic, and warm look, which compliments cozy holiday lighting, greenery, and decor accents. Unfortunately, brass has also become en vogue so it’s harder to find and when you do it might be priced a bit higher than we would like. But that’s the fun off thrifting, hunt around and look around for that fun brass pieced tucked away on a thrift store shelf. Brass accents are on my ongoing list of thrift store wants.

Frames
Vintage and second-hand picture frames offer unique and one of a kind variety at an incredibly affordable price. There is a wide selection of frames, which come in all sorts of shapes, sizes and styles. There really is something for everyone with different aesthetics and purposes.
Swans
Ok, this one might not be for everyone but it’s one of my latest obsessions. Did you know swancore is a thing? Well, I’m here to share with you that it is. Swans are having a moment, and I’m all about it. I have found two of these pretties in the wild, and I’m on the forever hunt for more. They go with the flow and can be dressed up for any season or holiday. I thick greenery is the look for this year. Stay tuned…

Thrifting Pro Tip: Look at the potential of an item beyond its current state or condition. Items can be altered, up-cycled and recreated with TLC, elevating them to a trend forward piece.
Benefits of Thrift Shopping
Environmental
Buying reused items is good for our planet since it recycles items others have used, and it keeps more things out of our land fills. I love to up-cycle, recycle, and reuse items whenever possible. These used pieces tend to have patina, character and culture, which is not easily found in new items.

Economical
Thrift shopping usually yields a great value on items you might not necessarily pay regular retail pricing. Granted these items are used but sometimes this doesn’t really matter since the items are in great condition. Or the fact that they are used gives them wonderful patina and distressing that sometimes takes years to develop.

Exceptional
Since thrifted items have already had a life before you find them, they have a story to tell, which tends to make them unique. Many of the thrifted items I find and choose would probably not be items I would select as new. It makes the process of thrift store shopping super interesting and provides unique looks.

Entertaining!
Thrifting is an adventure, which should be fun and not stressful. Just remember to have an open mind, enjoy ypurself and embrace the unexpected. If thrift shopping is not working for you, walk away. Thrift shopping should be rewarding, offering treasures and unpredictable surprises. There’s always the next thrift shopping adventure around the corner to help you find that amazing piece!

Thrifting Pro Tip: Look at thrift store finds while thinking outside the box.Sometimes you like an item, but don’t need to use it for its intended purpose. Make it yours
Closing Thoughts
These thrifty finds create a signature style for any home, which can’t be replicated. Thrifting is a fun treasure hunt for adults and a secret weapon for interior designers and vintage store owners. I lean into thrifting to provide fresh and unique pieces for our home. Thrifted pieces are sustainable, which you can be used long after the holidays have passed.
