I want to share how the table is set in all sorts of shades of green (my favorite color!) in the veggie garden, blending right into the setting. I love all the details of this green garden tablescape.
Having a place to sit and rest in the garden lets us enjoy this spot and take in the beauty we create and nurture. We have enjoyed the benefits of the veggie garden all season. I harvested the last of the lettuces the other day. The tomatoes are so sweet and fabulous and a total delight. Now we’re starting to enjoy the peppers. I have some recipes coming your way soon.

all about the veggie garden
If you’re new around here you can read more about our veggie garden here {prepping and planting the vegetable garden for the season}. The traveling tea cup helped me harvest last week when she came for a visit {the traveling tea cup comes to visit the masterpiece home}.
We’ve had the garden for about 15 years now. It was one of the first gardening projects we completed when we moved into the masterpiece home. You can see how it looked way back when at the beginning before it was established here {how does your garden grow}.
About 4 or 5 years ago we added the patio set so we could sit and enjoy our veggie garden oasis. Originally our landscape designer allowed this space for a potting bench, but it’s not practical for that purpose for me based on the location. But instead it allows for this wonderful sitting area.
This little bistro set was on our back patio, and it was really underutilized so I mentioned to Mr. M that I wanted to move it to the garden. The next morning is was installed in the garden just waiting for me. It’s the perfect setting to set a nature inspired green garden tablescape.

The table is set with different layers of green hues, patterns and textures. Normally some of these greens might not play well together. Since there are so many different shades and hues of green though, they all just blend together.
The table is draped with a linen green stripes table cloth to set the stage. The plate stack starts with {moss chargers DIY}, followed by green enamelware plates, which were a thrift store find. I just shared this enamelware on Father’s Day here {picnic on a mountain top}.
Another thrift find are the green transferware mini plates, which crown the plate stack. I first shared them here {thrifted goodies – the Easter basket edition}. I only found two of these but I will find many uses for them around here.
The napkins and flatware are held together with a tree bark napkin holder. I figured the bark fit the nature setting. The flatware is disposable plastic, which I found at the Dollar Tree back during the Easter season. They remind me of Jadeite.
The Anthropologie green milk & depression glasses are some of my favorite glasses. The wine glasses I’ve been using in many tablescapes since I found them while thrift shopping.
A green watering can is spilling over with green hydrangeas from the backyard as a simple centerpiece, while a vintage French bucket chills the wine.

The veggie garden creates a wonderful setting and backdrop for a leisurely moment in time. It relaxes me and always provides a happy place.
The Russian Sage creates such a great border around the fence. It’s a favorite of ours around here. We like it so much we also added some to the fence around the front of the house.
It has been crazy hot around here, making outdoor projects a bit difficult. I set this late in the afternoon when it started to cool off, and I love how the light hit the garden.
The solar lights also create a nice glow around the arbor later at night. I’m hoping the temps will start to come down so I can finish some other outdoor projects.

Oh MaryJo, I would spend so much time sitting a spell at that wonderful bistro set. You have it perfectly styled, makes me just want to grab a book and a bottle of water and enjoy the setting. I imagine you spend quite a bit of time here, it’s beautiful.
