We are in the early planning stages of a remodel for our primary | master bathroom. For a clear focus on the design, I created a vision board for the timeless bathroom look I want to create.

The footprint of the bathroom is remaining pretty much the same with some additional square footage from a sealed off closet, which will add a teeny, tiny bit more square footage, but will make a big difference.

We are going for a classic and timeless look. You can get a feel for our style from the secondary bathroom we remodeled back in 2011 from this post {bathroom reveal}.

This secondary bathroom design was a black and white aesthetic with some retro, vintage vibes. This is the masterpieces kiddos’ primary bathroom, which also doubles as a guest bathroom.
the plan for the vision board
The bathroom design is very neutral and muted but the accent pieces bring in warmth, texture and interest. The teak bench, rattan accessories and ornate gilded mirrors shine against the neutral materials in the space.

The designer already visited the other day to measure the space and should have drawings to us by hopefully next week. We should also be meeting with the contractor shortly.

I am super excited to get this project underway. I will bring you along for the ride and will share the process as it unfolds.

more future plans
Although this is our current primary bedroom master bath, it will become the guest room. My father in law is moving in with us and this will be his space. This image is super inspirational for the space.

Consequently, we will be adding a master suite in the back of the house where the old guest room currently is. That’s a larger project, requiring a small addition. I will also share that exciting project when we get there. Here is some additional inspiration for that bathroom.

Hi MaryJo! I love the pics from your remodeled bath, black and white is so classic! We have a black and yellow bath in our home, and I thought for sure it was coming out when we moved here, but over time it has grown on me. They sure knew what they were doing in the past, in style for a lifetime! Thank you for sharing with Whimsy Home Wednesday!
Thanks so much Cara. Yes, timeless is the way to go. XO- MJ
