Thanksgiving is the quintessential time to count our blessings and spread our gratitude. I am sharing today our Thanksgiving table design where we broke bread together and shared our good fortune.

Thanksgiving is a wonderful holiday since it brings us all together regardless of race, culture and religion. It’s the model American holiday, and the perfect opportunity to set a beautiful table to celebrate the occasion.

This is our first year as empty nesters, since both of our children are now grown and flown to college. Our daughter is a freshman at University of Colorado Boulder and had the entire week off. We were truly blessed to get all that time to share with her. Our son is a Junior at University of Oregon, and only had the minimal Thanksgiving break of Wednesday through Sunday.

My heart is full to have us all together under one roof regardless of the length of time. We were also able to keep up our tradition of getting our Christmas tree all of us together the weekend after Thanksgiving, but more on that later. I have so much to share!

Setting a table for any occasion is fun, but setting a table for such a special occasion as Thanksgiving elevates it to another level. I love using special china and crystal stemware and sterling flatware and special touches. Let me share all the details of our Thanksgiving table.

There are elements on our Thanksgiving table, which are on repeat every year. You can see other Thanksgiving table designs here {rustic Thanksgiving tablescape} and here {Thanksgiving tablescape with mixed metals} and here {Thanksgiving tablescape 2015}.

My parent’s Johnson Brothers Barnyard turkey plates are super special to us, and the perfect dinner plates for Thanksgiving. The copper chargers were also my parents, which you can read more about here {copper trend}.

The Sterling flatware and silver candelabras are also from my parents. I shared a post awhile back about our sterling silver collection here {metals II – sterling silver}. The wine crystal goblets are Waterford from our wedding registry. I love the ring they make when we cheer.

The etched, gold rimmed water glasses are from my paternal grandparents. And the Limoge accent plates were a total thrift store find, which I shared all the details here {stylish St. Patrick day tablescape}. The napkins are new, and I absolutely love them!!!

The Limoge plates are accented with some seasonal tidbits. On a Hester & Cook autumn leaf sits a mini chartreuse velvet pumpkin, a pumpkin miniature mug and a chocolate turkey. I removed these plates to the side when it came time to load our dinner plates with the delicious Thanksgiving turkey and fixings.

I kept the centerpiece simple. Remember when I shared this post {chalkboard pumpkin tabletop DIY} earlier in the season. I styled the dining room table then, and it stayed like that all season long.

Our large Wonki Ware bowl is piled high with an assortment of white pumpkins. It’s simple and seasonal and special all at the same time.

The white pumpkin bowl is surrounded by glass smoky votive holders and the silver candelabra. I love the drama and ambiance candlelight creates.

The vintage chocolate turkey mold is one of my absolute favorite thanksgiving pieces we own. The mold ties in nicely with the individual chocolate turkeys at each place setting.
thankful, blessed, grateful
There are countless of things which I am grateful for, making my family truly blessed. And amid the craziness around the world it is not lost on me. I feel very fortunate for the humans I call mine.

I hope everyone had a healthy and happy Thanksgiving holiday with loved ones. Now it’s time to flip the page onto Christmas! I am excited to share so much holiday goodness soon! Thank you for stopping by. I am very grateful for your company here.

“Thanksgiving is a time of togetherness and gratitude.”
