Do you decorate for Valentine’s Day? I do a little bit but I have done more and more through the years mainly to share here on the blog. Today I am sharing some ideas and inspiration to help you in your own home this Valentine’s season.
I have not decorated for Valentine’s Day yet this year, because I only have the love touches for about a couple of weeks before I start moving on to other things. Once January winds down and February 1st hits I will start sprinkling Valentine’s Day decor here and there around our home.
One of the easiest ways to add a little romance to your home is with pretty blooms; whether you prefer fresh flowers or dried or preserved or faux. Adding a touch of soft colored bouquets sets an instant romantic mood.
Of course Valentine’s Day decor is always going to call for hearts. They don’t have to be bright red and pink hearts either, but can be soft hued and delicate.
Last year I actually decoupaged some paper mâché hearts with sheet music and finished them off with pretty ribbons. These hearts are very much my style and I prefer to craft seasonal decor items myself for that reason. It tends to make for a less expensive decor piece and adds a real personal touch.
I also do not limit my Valentine’s Day decor to inside my home, but I also like to sprinkle some romantic fairy dust outside. The church pew out front got some love last year.
Valentine’s Day tends to be a couple’s night out, but this is the one night a year we prefer too stay home and avoid the crazy prizes, and reservations rush and prix fixe menus. We like to stay home and create our own magic.
I will take any opportunity to set a pretty table for any occasion. I know many of you can relate.
Flowers and bubbly are always on repeat for the Valentine’s day holiday around here.
I hope this inspires or helps you to decorate for the Valentine’s Day holiday. It’s not a huge decorating holiday, but can be fun nonetheless.
Let me know how you decorate or celebrate for this holiday. I would love to hear from you.
Also if you’re a crafter, you might find these posts helpful. I just shared this last week:

Hello again, I want to thank you stopping by my blog. Setting a fabulous table is always so fun. Love your Valentine touches and details. Thank you so much for your sweet comment. Happy weekend ahead and yes, do come and share at Love Your Creativity on Sunday. XO
I love the splashes of love that you incorporate in your home, especially those that are hand made. I agree about eating at home, who wants to get in crowds and have to wait.Happy Valentine’s Day!
