étagère plant stand update

Etagere plant stand1

I love clustering pretty pots and beautiful blooms on the green, metal étagère that sits in a corner in our back patio.  Styling this plant stand is always a fun and satisfying project every year.

If you have been around here awhile, you’ve seen it many times before, but if you’re new here then I hope you enjoy this little corner of happiness!

I bought this étagère over 20 years ago, which I guess “technically” makes it vintage, from Gardener’s Eden.  Do you guys remember Gardener’s Eden?  I loved it!  And I am sad it went out of business but with the transformation of the internet over the last few decades I guess there are plenty of other sources out there.

Anyway, the little étagère has moved around quite a bit over the years but it has found a home in this particular spot over the last few years.

Every year I choose a flower color palette to showcase and keep it cohesive.  You can see other posts here{container gardening 2017} and here{container gardening delight}.

This year I chose a yellow and lavender color palette for the blooms.  I kept the containers in the white and grays with the exception of my tin bread box, which has become the focal point.   The chartreuse jar, which I painted years ago, is the pop of color to keep things interesting. 😉

Many of the blooms are a daisy variety of flower.  I love daisies!  They are a happy flower to me plus Margarita was my mother’s name, which in Spanish means daisy.

All the plants and flowers I plant in this spot always seem very happy as long as I keep them watered.  I think they get the right amount of shade and sunshine, making it a perfect little spot.

Did you notice the deer|buck|stag {not sure what to call it} hanging around?  He’s new to this area this year.  The metal floral French sign I had hanging in this spot has faded to the point that the image is almost totally washed away.  I’ll have to reinvent the sign and I’ll share once I do.

In the meantime I’m digging Mr. Buck hanging around and taking care of my pretty blooms.  I use it as Christmas | Winter decor but it needed something else to do the rest of the year. 😉  I like his new digs for now.

That’s it for today.  Wishing everyone a safe and happy Memorial Day Holiday.
