a MOSSY tablescape

Mossy tablescape1
Hello friends.  Today we are sharing a moss inspired tablescape in honor of Earth Day.

We used moss accents throughout the tablescape to give the table a very nature filled and earthy feel.  There are DIY moss chargers, a DIY moss runner, faux moss rocks plus moss balls are sprinkled around.

To play off all the moss accents we also use green toned details like the candles, glassware and depression glass compotes. The latter was not difficult for me since green is one of my favorite colors. 💚

The moss chargers and runners are DIYs we created ourselves.  You can see all the details about the runner in this post{eye-catching ways to add moss to your tabletop}.  The chargers are a recent creation and we will post the DIY details soon.

The table is set to be a relaxed experience with everyday plates, flatware, glassware and linens.  Since we are anxiously awaiting to start setting tables outdoors, this is a baby step in that direction.

The Williams-Sonoma black bistro dinner plates and Royal Stafford black transferware accent plates have been seen in many tablescapes around here since they are our everyday dishes.

The flatware is also a staple here, since most of the utensils were the set my parent’s own and I grew up using with my own family.  The only exception are the appetizer forks which are from Hearth and Hand from Magnolia at Target.

The linens are fairly new from my shopping excursion here{birthday wishes} and although I don’t picture the napkins in the post this is when I acquired them.  They are actually dish towels but I bought them as a set to use as oversized napkins and here you go.  I also used them as placemats in this table here{Mercury glass Friendsgiving tablescape}.

The glasses are the newest acquisition at the much insistence of my daughter.  Lexi now works at the same shoppe I do {working @ Whim House} and she had been spying these glasses in the shoppe f.o.r.e.v.e.r.  I finally acquiesced and brought home a set of the tall and a set of the short green rimmed drinking glasses.  Who knew glasses would make her so happy?

The centerpiece is anchored with the DIY moss table runner, which on top I scattered assorted green pillar candles and varied ball jars with pretty blooms.  In the middle is a small birch tray with an assortment of moss balls to bring the earth day theme front and center.

I could NOT have set a table for Earth day without including pretty, fresh blooms.  I filled the assorted ball jars with white hydrangeas, white ranunculus, white St. John’s Wort Floralberry and eucalyptus.

I love using organic elements to decorate and this table just speaks to my soul.
