I love sprinkling flowers throughout the house. You don’t have to spend a fortune on flowers to enjoy them in your home. In fact I usually get my flowers from the grocery store. Not only are they relatively inexpensive but you can also stretch them to get the most bang for your buck. Today I’ll be sharing how I used the same flowers a few times in different ways.

I used two varieties of eucalyptus I picked up at Trader Joe’s on this Friendsgiving tablescape. I sprayed the eucalyptus down the center of the table amidst the mercury glass pumpkins and votive holders. You can follow the link to the original post by clicking above and see more photos.

I then moved the eucalyptus to my dough bowl centerpiece for our Thanksgiving holiday table.

It made a great nest for the white pumpkins, pine cones and nuts. As time passed the eucalyptus did start to dry out but I like the way it looks and it adds great texture. Once again you can follow the link above to see the entire post with more photographs.

I kept the eucalyptus in the dough bowl as I transitioned the decor from Thanksgiving to Christmas.

I replaced the white pumpkins and nuts with mercury glass ornaments, candles and Christmas greenery clippings, keeping the frosted pine cones. I love how the ecalyptus plays with the greenery.

That’s three different uses from this eucalyptus which is only $2.99 per bunch. I used two bunches in all these arrangements. It’s actually a totally reasonable price for one use let alone three uses. Plus these white roses I used at Thanksgiving were also stretched to three different projects.

This is the best picture of the roses since I snapped this picture quickly on Thanksgiving for menu planning purposes {I always review what we’ve done in previous years to plan for a current season | event |etc.}. I purchased the dozen white roses at Safeway along with some fillers which unfortunately you can’t really see in this picture. Also do you see the white mum flowers next to the roses? These were from the original bouquet on the friendsgiving tablescape, which I used through to the beginning of December. As far as the white roses, I cut them down and used them again in this winter greens tablescape.

I used the roses for individual bouquets at each place setting and for the centerpiece urn as well. The green buds were part of the fillers as well and I added the tree clippings to give it that Christmas vibe.

After the tablescape I moved the individual bud vases to decorate our Christmas mantel.
The roses are still actually on our mantel. They have dried and shriveled but I still like the way they look. It was actually Lexi who convinced me to leave them when I mentioned I was going to remove them since they were not “fresh” anymore. She explained she liked how they had dried and so they stayed. A girl after my own heart! I am actually considering using them for a winter decor vignette. If I do, I will be sure to share here.
Changing the water frequently always helps keep the flowers at their best. I also use the cut flower food that is usually provided, but I have read mixed reviews about it’s effectiveness. I really do not have an opinion on them. I do know that fresh water and making new cuts at the end of the stems seems to prolong the length of flower’s life. Flowers at this time during the long days of winter are always a welcome sight.
