a glitzy halloween tablescape

Glitzy halloween tablescape

This Halloween tablescape was inspired by the Anthropologie Bistro Tile collection.  I love these bowls with the double handles and the little Florette tile at the bottom of the bowl.  This glitzy halloween tablescape has the perfect combination of sophist aced and boho vibes.

I got the bowls and some assorted serving pieces which I am sure you will all see again and again in future tablescapes.  I have my eye on a couple more pieces; we’ll see if I can resist the temptation.  They play so nice with these table linens I purchased last year for the holidays.

I love the whole black and gold vibe, making it for a moody tablescape for the Halloween season but keeping it fancy and glam, which I am a big fan of.  The gold accents coupled with our wedding china and crystal and my parents’ sterling flatware make it all so elegant.

The only real “halloween-ie” touch are the glittery trees I got at Target.  They were $5 each so not a huge investment.  I loved their simplicity and are perfect for setting the mood with all the candles.

The linens have a bit of a Boho vibe which play really nice with the Bistro Tile line.  The napkins are 100% linen and I left them casually folded at each place setting to relax the mood creating a juxtaposition with the fine crystal, china & sterling.  Rustic and refined always calls to me.

Do you see the shattered sliding glass door on the right?  While blowing the patio our gardner blew a pebble into the glass and it splintered it like a spider’s web.  It was a total fluke accident.  We will be replacing it soon just want to figure the best course of action but that is my current situation.

I was so excited to finally post a tablescape in the dining room since it has been Mister M’s home office for awhile now that I totally forgot about the shattered window.  I asked him if I could set the table in the dining room and he promptly cleared out so I had to go ahead with the plan even after I realized I had the shattered window pane in the background.  C’est la vie.

The assorted silverplate tapers are part of my thrifted collection.  The smoky glass and mercury glass votives are all from the store I work at, Whim House, along with the linens.

The water glasses are from my paternal grandparents.  The gold rim and the etching make my heart go pitter-patter and the fact that they came from my grandparents is just icing on the cake.

I am not sure what Halloween will look like this year.  My kids are old enough where it does not affect us as much.  My heart goes out for all the families with littles but it sounds like many are creating clever ways to still make it festive.

We decorated the outside of the house to make it festive for the kiddos in our neighborhood.  I’ll share more real soon.  We had a wave of little ones move in a few years ago and it reminds me of when we moved into the neighborhood, when the Masterpiece kids were five and three.  It’s such a fabulous neighborhood and super family friendly.
