through the seasons – a Goat Cart

Through the seasons - a goat cart

The goat cart on our front porch is one of those things I wanted for a long time until I found THE one!  Everything aligned perfectly: the right quality, the right size and the right price tag.  You can read the whole story how I came about this goat cart in this post:

I’m sharing how I have fun with my goat cart through the seasons and different holidays of the year for my next “through the seasons” installment {at the end of this post you can find a list of all the previous installments}.  To start, I recently shared my goat cart with this year’s container gardening post.

Daisies are a favorite flower of mine and they looked great in the cart.  My mom’s name was Margarita which means Daisy in Spanish.  Daisies are very dear and near to my heart.

When I first got the goat cart I could NOT wait to style it and the first flowers I ever placed in the cart were lavender plants.  Perfection!

Later in the season I added a little party dress for the 4th of July holiday.

As spring | summer flowers fade I turn to some Fall inspiration.  These ornamental cabbages filled the cart beautifully.

Of course pumpkins are the piece de resistance for autumn.  This is actually what ignited my goat cart obsession.  Many, many, many years ago I drove by a home that had a goat cart in the middle of the front lawn overflowing with orange pumpkins.  I immediately fell in love.  And the quest began…

At the end of October a spider, a skull & a crow add a touch of spookiness for Halloween {ugh, that sun glare!  SO sorry}.

Of course once fall fades away we are left with the main holiday season event.  Last year I overflowed the cart with white poinsettias because I found a great deal on these huge 8″ pots.  They were amazing and I made sure to bring them in at night so the chilly nights wouldn’t start to cripple them prematurely.

Usually during the holiday season I just fill the cart up with greenery and silvery baubles.  One can never go wrong with that combination.

This picture really does not do it justice but I cannot locate some pictures from a certain time period.  They are not on my computer or on my back-up drive, but I am holding out hope that I can locate them somewhere.  Regardless, it does not matter what time of year it is, the goat cart never disappoints.
