flowers springing around here

I just wanted to share how these flowers have morphed in my house. By using fresh water and new cuts these flowers are staying perky.

These bright, cheery yellow flowers are from my {lemon inspired kitchen tablescape} post the other day.  After having the kitchen table set like this for a few days the Masterpiece family was ready to have their kitchen table back.  Well, I do not blame them one bit and I was a bit over it myself.

I wanted to put my green bottles back on the kitchen table where I like them best.  You can read all about my green bottle collection in this post {through the seasons~green bottle collection}, but anyway, I wanted to keep enjoying these flowers in the kitchen where I spend the majority of my time most days.

I broke up the bouquets I created for the tablescape and placed them in the bottles depending on the length I had cut them for the tablescape arrangements.  I used some new cuts on certain stems depending on their condition and filled all the bottles with fresh water.  This should keep these blooms going for awhile.

I used the daffodils, ranunculus, and filler in the bottles.  I moved the chamomile into a crystal vase, which I placed on the chest in the front foyer.  The length of the chamomile stems and their shape didn’t lend themselves to play nice in the green bottles.

By moving the flowers around and rearranging them it has breathed new life into these pretty stems.

I am loving them spread out through the house and it certainly is making it feel like Spring is here to stay.

Hopefully with the fresh water and the new cuts on the stems these flowers will stick around for awhile.

A great tip I learned awhile ago is to cut the stems on the diagonal rather than straight across so it creates more surface for the stem to drink up water, allowing the flowers to stay hydrated and thrive.

  1. I am loving all the yellow flowers here! Yellow is a beautiful color for spring. Thanks for sharing with us at #OMHGWW.

  2. Your yellow blooms are perfect! What is more cheery than bright yellow flowers? I chuckle at your comment about the family wanting their table back. I know if I style a tablescape I never want to take it down until I have edited all of my photos (I have made that mistake in the past), so eating at the breakfast bar might just have to do!

  3. Thank you so much Chloe. Yes! The breakfast bar is a great solution. Unfortunately we don’t have one but hopefully when we remodel the kitchen. Thanks for stopping by. xo- mj

  4. So pretty! Fresh flowers are definitely nice to have around the house. I love your green bottle collection – I have a blue bottle collection. 🙂 Thanks so much for sharing at Sweet Inspiration!

I love hearing from you!
