Today is the epiphany. The three wise men arrived to the birth of baby Jesus, bearing gifts of frankincense, gold & myrrh. I grew up celebrating this holiday {los reyes magos} and I have instilled the tradition with my own children|family.
This morning the masterpiece children woke up to find gifts tucked by their shoes placed outside their bedroom doors. This officially marks the end of the christmas season for us and everything came down. tree, wreaths, decorations….everything.
I’m being very deliberate on how I pack up christmas this year. Organizing all the bins in a way that makes sense when I unpack them next year and start to decorate for the christmas 2019 season. Plus I added labels to all the bins so I know exactly what’s in them before I even open them up.
I also purged many items that every year I consider donating but save “just in case” I want to use them. Well… I never use them. Every year I have to sift through them and stick them back in the bins while I use the stuff that I really like. So, this year hopefully they will end up in a home that can appreciate them.
Every year I say I’m going to do it & every year I don’t. Not anymore. I’m doing it baby! Starting the year off on the right foot and I hope to keep it going throughout the year. Really honing my style and focusing on the stuff we love and letting go of the unnecessary stuff.
We had a fabulous holiday season sharing moments and memories with family and friends. That’s what the good life is all about. Not about things but about experiences. I’m looking forward to having many memorable experiences in 2019.
I love the hopes, dreams and aspirations the new year always brings. I hope to live up to my expectations for another healthy, prosperous and happy new year!
“As the old year retires and a new one is born, we commit into the hands of our Creator the happenings of the past year and ask for direction and guidance in the new one. May He grant us His grace, His tranquility and His wisdom!”

Sweet celebration and beautiful décor! I had hoped to “get organized” when packing up my Christmas décor this year but … it didn’t happen.
