I have been adding some spring touches throughout the house inside & out, but I have to admit it’s been slow going this year. There’s been so much rain that it hasn’t felt very spring-y.
I know “april showers bring may flowers” but in northern California that’s usually not the case. We’re basking in sunshine for a few weeks by now {even months I dare say on some years}. Although it sounds like I’m complaining, which I’m not, ‘cuz I know there are folks on the other side of the country under snow still. I’m just simply explaining why my spring decor has been slow going this year.
Most of the spring touches I’ve added are of the organic kind like fresh blooms, flowers, plants, wreaths etc. I didn’t even break out my easter decor this year {which is unheard of by the way}. I just sprinkled freshness around the house.
During the brief breaks between the rain we’ve been able to plant the veggie garden and some fresh flowers, but there’s plenty more I want to do. I hope I can do some more this weekend.
We planted pretty much the usual items, which include different varieties of tomatoes, peppers, herbs and lettuces and everything already looks fantastic {and yes, thank you rain}.

You can read more about the benefits of the veggie garden here and I’ll share more details about this year’s garden in a subsequent post.
I’m just sharing a tiny part of what our spring looks like at the moment.

What are those plants in the olive baskets in the wagon? They look just perfect there! I love those bells of Ireland, too! I think this week will the first truly consistent spring-like week we’ve had this year, yay! Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm! xo Kathleen
I like your slow going spring touches. Even for us here in Texas, spring hasn’t been terribly cooperative. We have had beautiful warm days and then really cold days. Your cart is one of those items always on my list to find!
