Seriously?!?! I know I’m not alone here. Who hasn’t gone into Target for a few necessities and ended up going down the shopping rabbit hole?
I ended up in the Christmas section because I wanted to check out their pre-lit trees for the front porch. And although I didn’t find the type of tree I’m looking for, I found plenty else.
Well, first I grabbed the holiday wreath, which I have a plan for and once I broke the seal by picking up one item…the flood gates opened up.
Although Master & Miss Masterpiece are teenagers and are fully aware the jolly man in the red suit is really mom & dad, I still refuse to utter the words and will never admit it to them. I play the “you gotta believe” game.
So that being said, I cannot use my handwriting on the tags, which is a dead give away. I used the computer for a few years but then Master Masterpiece found my open file of tags on my laptop one year so that was a bust. So now I use specific colors|wrapping paper for each kid with no labels.
So navy & gold for Master Masterpiece and white & gold for Miss Masterpiece it is this year. At first I was going to wait and get it later but then I decided to start early and besides next time i’m at Target it might all be gone. You never know. I still have to go back because the rolls of wrapping paper for these collections weren’t out yet, only the gift bags, tissue & boxes.
So now I’m all in a festive mood and shopped some candy stocking stuffers and picked up some decor.
I saw the truck when I first walked into the store on an endcap display and thought about it but kept going. After spending too much time in the back of the store in the seasonal section where I filled up my shopping cart I decided what the heck & picked it up on the way out. I’m glad I did because it was a reasonable price for the size and quality plus I love the color!
And so it begins! have you started your Christmas shopping? I love this time of year.
“The odds of going to the store for a loaf of bread and coming out with only a loaf of bread are three billion to one. “
Been there, done that……last night! We went in to pick up a Nerf Gun for Christmas for my son because it was on sale, and I ended up with a whole new Christmas kitchen decorating scheme after hitting the dollar spot! Can’t wait to see what you do with all your Target loot!
Ha! The “you gotta believe” game is going strong here too, right down to Dear Santa letters even for the almost-15 year old. And every time I walk into Target I come out with something or more not on my list!
The same thing happened to me a few weeks back. If I can get pass the dollar bin I’m ok. However, that rarely happens. You came away with a great haul!
My trick is to stay out of Target except for after holiday sales!!!! Hurts, but it works!
Lol amber. That dollar bin sucks me every.single.time. xo-mj
I keep bugging my kids for their lists so I can get shopping!! I keep telling them santa keeps asking me. ; ). miss u! xo- mj

You’re strong! Lol. That’s a lot of will power. xo- maryjo
Oh yes, I’ve fallen down that rabbit hole before! And I too play, the you gotta believe game as well. Santa is the spirit of giving and lives on forever! Love the truck! I came home with cute pink deer with gold spots. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
