I created a Valentines vignette with some cherished items I inherited from my grandmother.
I remember as a little girl always admiring her artwork and decorative artifacts and although they might not match my current “style” they still hold a dear spot in my heart.
This porcelain pitcher from Clementson Bros, England was sent with my cousin when she traveled from Uruguay to my wedding in NJ / NY by my grandmother. She remembered how I always loved it and wanted me to have it in my new home as a new bride.
Since I was just entering my shabby chic phase this fit in perfectly and I loved the thoughtfulness and meaning behind it.
The rose & lily still life painting came home with me when I closed out my parents’ estate in Uruguay over a decade ago. It totally reminds me of her house when I was a young girl.
I also brought home the rose chassis that I use as a votive holder when I bring it out.
All these items have a romantic feel to them and I included a few hearts I have to bring the valentines theme full circle.
Makes me smile and I can feel her looking down at me and it warms my heart.
“It is at the edge of a petal that love awaits.”
