halloween tablescape

The spooky season is upon us so I set the table accordingly.

Hallowee talesape

I used lots of birds, skulls and pumpkins.

The color scheme is pretty monochromatic, which I tend to lean towards automatically.

Hallowee talesape2

I draped some of my regular chargers with creepy cloth I picked up at the dollar store.  One cloth can cover 8 chargers, which is a pretty good value.

Hallowee talesape4

I picked up the ravens at each place setting at the Dollar Tree as well.

Hallowee talesape3

I actually had the whole table set without the centerpiece since I didn’t use any of my halloween stash for the place settings.

Hallowee talesape5

…then I brought down all the halloween bins from the attic and started opening them and whatever struck my fancy for the table I placed in the middle.

Hallowee talesape6

I placed something and added something else and moved something over, etc.

Hallowee talesape7

…until you get the right composition; you all know the drill.

Hallowee talesape8

I didn’t have anything planned for for the centerpiece so I am glad how it all came together.

Hallowee talesape9

What I did have planned was black taper candles and of course I waited until the last minute and there were none to be found so I ended up improvising with white candles.

Hallowee talesape10

A girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do {the show must go on} so I wrapped some book print around each taper and tied it with pieces of the creepy cloth.  done!

Hallowee talesape11

Looks like we have an early dinner guest and he looks pretty hungry {wink}.

Bone Appetite!

  1. Spooktacular Mary Jo! I especially love the creepy candlesticks and the web covered chargers! Your centerpiece is over the top fabulous!! Great job!

  2. What clever ideas – you are so talented. Pat just called me to check out the chargers but she didn’t mention the really neat candles. I gotta call her back to make sure she sees the “entire” table. It is fabulous!

  3. Spooktacular Mary Jo! Love the monochromatic colors and the fun, not creepy eeriness! Thanks for sharing with SYC.

  4. Love your spooktacular tablescape! What a neat idea for the chargers. But you need to serve up some food on those plates–hubby is skin and bones!

  5. Such a fun and fabulous Halloween tablescape MaryJo.
Thank you for sharing it at Create, Bake, Grow & Gather this week. I’m delighted to be featuring it at tomorrow night’s party and pinning too.

I love hearing from you!
