It’s no secret I’m a big fan of container gardening.
I became a big fan back in my professional days when I ran marketing for a garden product distributor. You can read more about that here.
Container gardening is extremely versatile since you can fairly easily move the planters around.
Also there are a variety of container types in the marketplace plus you can also get creative and use containers not necessarily intended for gardening.
I actually love re purposing non gardening containers as planters.
I used galvanized buckets, florist vases and a feed container here to name a few.
Some I bought old, some I bought new and they all look great together.
The inspiration for this corner of my patio began with this upcycled old door.
A neighbor was throwing it out and I painted & distressed it, added the porcelain hardware and a graphic I created using a frame from The Graphics Fairy.
I kept the floral palette unified with different shades of purple|violet.
I love this little corner of the patio; I find it so peaceful.
I’ve had this vignette for the past few years with tweaks from year to year and this year the big addition was the tree with the lights.
I staked a big manzanita branch into the large planter and strung it with outdoor lights.
I love the ambience it creates in the evenings {hard to capture on auto setting}.
Hot summer nights!
