an old secretary desk & seashell decor

Summer is just whizzing by.  I can’t believe how quickly it’s passing.
Secretary seashells 1
We’re in full summer mode around here, from schedules to activities to meals and decor.
I thought I would show you some of my summer decor.  I shared the beginning of the summer details here.
Secretary seashells 2
This year I displayed my sea motif (shells, starfish, coral, etc.) concentrated on my old secretary.
Besides the pieces on the mantel that is.
Since I used a lot of sea form I kept the other details to a minimum.
Secretary seashells 3
Basically I only used books and cloches in the vignette as additional accents.
You can see how I decorated for summer last year here.

Our school district changed the instructional calendar this past year so school is back in session on august 15th.
Really, REALLY early.  Yup we’re pretty much about a month away!!!  I’m SO not ready.
Secretary seashells 5
I’m really enjoying the lazy days of summer.
Everything and everyone is so very relaxed.
Secretary seashells 6
In the stores I’m seeing pumpkins and halloween decor and I’m NOT ready for that!    Yet.
I love the fall but right now I’m still in full summer mode around here.

  2. You have a beautiful collection of shells. And I love the secretary. It all looks so lovely. I think school starts earlier every year. Where I live they go back the first week of August.

  3. thanks snap! i love sea shells and all sea form in general. the majority of my collection is from when my family lived in the bahamas back in the 70s and the ocean was our back yard. my family harvested it all (i was too young) before awareness increased & the regulations became stricter. they hold wonderful memories for me. thanks for stopping by xo- mj
