flea market finds

So on the first day of November I was ready to start thinking about the holiday season ahead ⇒ Thanksgiving & Christmas!
Flea markt1
I went to the Alameda antique points faire which happens on the 1st Sunday of every month.
And every month life seems to interfere and I haven’t been able to make it in a very long time.
Flea markt2
I went with somewhat of a mental wish list and all my finds were things that I want and|or have been thinking about for awhile.
There were so many great things; some reasonably priced and some not so much, which did NOT come home with me.
There was so much wonderful eye candy and fabulous inspiration!
Flea markt7
I found an old sled with some awesome patina.
Very little red left which is perfect for me.
I’ve been wanting one for awhile & I got it for a great price thanks to my cousin’s negotiating skills.
Can’t wait to use it on my Christmas porch decor.
Flea markt4
I also got these three grain sacks and I have some plans that I hope I can execute properly.
I’ll share when I’m done.
Flea markt6
The small Christmas tablecloth is for a specific purpose in the kitchen, which I’ll be happy to share once I deck the halls.
Flea markt3
I  pick up silver plate appetizer forks from the same vendor here & there.
I have about 30+ which are great when entertaining.
I wasn’t looking to add anymore right now but my aunt had asked my cousin to get some since she loves when I use them @ home.
Well, while digging around we found one with a monogrammed “M” and yup it had to come home with me.  Had.to.
Flea markt5
I have some projects ahead of me that I’m excited about and also a bit nervous that they come out how I hope.
Flea markt8
I’m also super excited to start crafting, baking and decorating for the holidays.
Happy Times!

  1. Love your finds Mary Jo! I found a small sled a few months ago and can’t wait to pull it out. Love the tablecloth and yes, the monogrammed ‘m’ had to come home with you! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
    hugs,
    Jann

  2. Those grain sacks are so fabulous! And the sled is wonderful. I use mine from the 80’s on my front porch every year. So winter/holiday/festive!

  3. Great stuff, all of it, Mary Jo! I use an old sled every year for decoration, and I absolutely love grainsacks. Can’t wait to see what you do with them. Thanks for linking up with Vintage Charm! xoKathleen

I love hearing from you!
