happy days

I know I’m late to the party here…
…but since I had a blog lapse during the months of May & June…
…I just wanted to share our happy mother’s & father’s day.
Mothers day 1Mr. M really outdid himself.
I get to lounge in bed on Mother’s Day while I hear footsteps & tinkering around.
Sometimes I get breakfast in bed but this year I got to walk outside to this.
Mothers day 2
{sorry about the sun glare}
Who doesn’t want to start their day w/ champagne, chocolates & flowers?
Along with the mimosas we did have bagels w/ smear, lox & all the fixins ‘cuz although we live in california now you can never take the New York out of my baby daddy.
Mothers day 3
And the day continued with a feast of drink & food surrounded by my favorite people.
Mothers day 6
The best part?
I didn’t have to lift a finger.
Mothers day 4
How great is this chalkboard menu Mr. M created all by himself?
Ao MUCH yummy food.
Mothers day 5
Love him!
I’m one lucky gal!
So of course I had to shower him with some goodness on father’s day.
Fathers day 1
We were lucky to have my father in-law visiting us during father’s day.
While the boys went for an early morning walk, I prepared a morning nosh for when they got back.
Yup, more mimosas!
Fathers day 2
The kids were so excited to have not only daddy to celebrate but also grandpa.
My father in-law lives in South Carolina so we don’t see him as often as we would like.
Fathers day 3
I prepared all the hors d’oeuvres and Mr. M fixed the cocktails,
But grandpa wanted to celebrate by cooking dinner!
Love it!  So since I didn’t have to cook {& I love to cook btw} I got busy setting a pretty table.
Fathers day 4
One of my favorite memories as a kid is sitting around the table with family & friends, talking, eating, laughing, enjoying each other face to face.
I hope our kids will have similar memories.
Fathers day 5
Grandpa made his famous lemon chicken on the grill with rice & string beans.
I don’t think there was anything left over.
Fathers day 7
Excuse Master M’s arm as he pours his orange soda {the art of a perfectly staged photograph is lost on him}, but I also believe in real life & I love that that’s my life.
But back to the orange soda- it is his drink of preference.
While I was pregnant with him I was going through my Sunkist phase & I always wonder if that has anything to do with it?
Fathers day 6
We sat around the table and talked and shared and laughed.
No iphones, no tvs, no nothing except happy faces.
Happy memories!
