Yes, I’m still here. This post is mainly dedicated to my January workshop, which is tonight by the way. I hope to follow it up w/ some fun stuff post for the family/friends audience later today…..or when I find the time.
Anyway, January’s theme is grid layouts. We will create a 2 page 12×12 layout and a 1 pager as well.
What I love about the grid technique is that you can use a ton of pictures, or not. sometimes I fill my entire grid with pictures, but other times (as in the above sample) I like some fun details to show (journaling, embellishments, monogram, etc.). Also just because it’s a “grid” we don’t have to stick to straight lines and angles. For that reason, I used circles for the second layout.
{EDITED: I updated the pictures with marginally better photos} {I know the pictures are slightly blurry, out of focus if you will, I think I’m just running too fast doing too many things, but that’s a topic for a different post}
So for the second layout I chose to only use one photo in the middle. I wanted the layout super simple for my one little word of 2009: simplify. If you want more info about the one little word thing go here. Instead of making a new year’s resolution for the past few years I have chosen a little word to be my guiding light throughout the year. Last year it was “order” as in getting my life in order (I think i was about 75% successful). So once again maximizing my efficiency factor, scrapped my word for the year, which has been on my to do list for a month now AND created a workshop sample. good times! I love that.
The supplies for the kit include:
-
my minds eye “home” theme set
-
prism card stock (cream & grey)
-
heidi swapp cricle bling frames
-
prima: artful collage flower – newsprint
-
brown brad – small (stash)
Hope to be back here soon…..
