this, that & the other

Img_4314THIS.  So we finally made it to the Pumpkin Patch.  We’ve been coming here, Joan’s Farm, since Sebastian was born & this is the first year the weather wasn’t sunny & warm.  This is California after all.  It was very windy & it actually drizzled on us a few times but the kids still had fun.  It was much easier to keep track of the kids since the place was practically empty.  Our BusyBabes mothers’ group makes it a play group outing every year & this year there were barely 10 kids, partly due to the weather & partly due ‘cuz many are getting older & going their separate ways.  But those in attendance did NOT disappoint.  A good time was had by all.

We had also read that Joan was shutting down the farm & we wouldn’t have our usual pumpkin patch next year.  There’s plenty of work that goes into growing the pumpkins, gourds, sunflowers, etc. & I totally understand Joan wanting to retire, but when you think about the 3000 children that cross the farm this time of year, it makes you a bit sad & nostalgic.  I was already envisioning my children growing up with this annual tradition…and fortunately Joan’s daughter understands this & is willing to keep the farm going with some assistance.  If you were wondering how we feel about this as a family….

THAT.  I’m working on getting my Memory-Works business back on track.  My next workshop will be on Thursday, November 1st & consist of a 2-page 12×12 layout with a fall/autumnal theme.  As soon as I have the sample I will post it in my workshop album.  We will use the Crush Line by Crate Paper.  Yummy patterned papers.  Stay tuned.
THE OTHER. Today was picture day at Sebastian’s school & we woke up TOTALLY late (this is a whole other, long story) but somehow I got him to school on time looking rather dapper (not hard since he takes after his daddy in this department).  Late & all I was able to pull off some quick snapshots before school.  My handsome boy & my photo of the day for my Heidi Swapp class at BPS.
